But… Why is water so important?
Here are 10 important benefits of drinking water:
- Helps to lose weight: Water plays a crucial role in your metabolism. Drinking water also reduces hunger- an excellent appetite suppressant!
- Healthy skin: Drinking water will give more moisture to dry skin. Water also replenishes skin tissues and increases skin elasticity. Healthier skin makes you look younger!
- Fights infection: When you are dehydrated, your immune system is weakened!
- Get rid of harmful body toxins: Our blood functions to dissolve, process and transport nutrients, and eliminate waste materials- and our blood is mostly made up of water!
- Healthy heart: Water prevents clogging of arteries. Dehydration causes your heart to be incapacitated, resulting in possible heart problems.
- Prevent join pain & arthritis: Proper hydration helps to keep your joints lubricated. Muscles will be more elastic and gets less strain.
- Boost energy: About 75% of your muscles, 22% of your bones, and 83% of your blood are made up of water. Water keeps our body well hydrated so that our body can carry out its functions. If you are dehydrated, your body parts will not function as effectively, hence lowering your energy level!
- Prevent constipation: Fibre aids in digestion. And you will need to drink water for fibre to function properly!
- Reduce risk of cancer: Drinking water helps in keeping bladder and colon cancer away.
- Improves productivity: Your brain is made of around 85% water. Drinking water helps you to think better and increase your concentration!
